25 Aug 19 | Kansas City, MO | Pistol LVL 2

This is a level 2 pistol course that will stress fundamentals, and most importantly providing the "how" and the "why" in addition to what you are trying to accomplish throughout the training day.

By the end of the day each shooter will know where they are at and what to work on as you go forward in your training. This is not a course where you will just be led through drills and told what you are doing wrong. Here we will work on fixing them based on what works for you. Identifying your deficiencies and giving you the tools to improve is the end state of the class. We will briefly touch on fundamentals before we work on movement, barrier shooting, pie-ing off doors, and stress courses.

The range is offering camping for those that would like to stay on the property.  It is convenient for those with roof top tents (RTT) on their truck or just chuck a tent out and spend the night.  The range house is also open for those that would rather not stay in a tent and has a cot or sleeping pad.  There is no running water so please bring water.  There is a port-a-john on the premises so that is covered.  Hotels are available in the area.  Excelsior Springs, MO or Liberty, MO have plenty of hotel options.  Kearney, MO has a nice hotel being built that should be ready for class time as well.

For inquiries regarding camping availability, please reach out to Nate McKown (ndmckown@yahoo.com) or Andy Clemmer (andyclemmer88@gmail.com).

  • This LVL 2 class is meant as an intermediate to advanced class for pistol shooting. We will cover the fundamentals for a brief part of the day before training on movement, barriers, and pie-ing off angles.
  • The class will receive a safety brief, medical plan, loading unloading procedures, range rules, and of course filling out waivers before we begin.
  • The program of instruction for the day will begin with a standards test, fundamentals, movement to static positions, continuous movement, barriers, working angles, and finish off with a stress shoot. The majority of this day will be spent moving and shooting.
  • Students can use a concealed carry holster or an outside the waistband. Duty belts are recommended if that is what you primarily use. Note that this is not a concealed carry course specifically.
  • If a student wishes to use a single stack pistol, have the ability to carry 3 magazines on you, in addition to your loaded magazine.
  • Minimum round count is 600 for pistol, and as always, more ammo is better.
  • Once you are registered for this class you will receive a pre-class questionnaire to fill out and return and your class packing list.
